Glamour reigned at the red carpet of the recently held prestigious Umang 2020 award ceremony. As always, the annual event witnessed a full-house from Bollywood, much to the delight of shutterbugs, as our gorgeous divas walked in flaunting the best of designer labels. We’re always eyes for the well-dressed, and the star-studded evening has been a great treat for us. Putting on our style lens and the fashion critic cap, we’ve picked up our favorite looks, so get scrolling!

Tie-&-Dye Glam

Diana Penty’s shimmery blush pink saree emanated a vivid feel with its bright pink tie-and-dye inspired color pops. And with that soothingly suave drape, we’re also crushing over the 3D floral statement blouse. Putting it together with her sleek straight hair-do and subtly pink-toned make-up, it was indeed a well-styled ensemble.

Desi Girl

It was a delight to watch PeeCee celebrate the Indian ethnicity so gracefully! Quite in tune with the Pantone Color of the Year 2020 trend, Priyanka Chopra Jonas sported a blue zari motif saree. Keeping the blouse design confined to simplicity and accessorizing the saree with a few pieces of traditional jewelry, including plain blue bangles, she carried a suavely raw look- with true Indian essence.

Ravishing Red

Each time we feel that the red saree couldn’t get more appealing, we find another celebrity elevating the glamour quotient of the classic Indian red drape. This time it was Janhvi Kapoor, who made it in a red chiffon saree edged with a hand-embroidered border with tone-on-tone flowers. While her designer blouse was a complete match to the sari border, her look was devoid of jewelry. But with such a breathtaking red saree, one doesn't need much accessory support!

Emerald Dreams

A jewel-toned green lehenga choli with a long blouse and detailed thread embroidery made up Shraddha Kapoor’s traditional Indian dress for the evening. With a picture-perfect twirl and a minimalistic take on accessories, we can surely take some wedding outfit inspiration from her for the 2020 wedding season.

Sheer Delight

It’s the year of sheer sarees, and this time, the Indian Barbie endorsed it! Katrina Kaif looked sensuously ethereal in a white net saree accentuated by a boldly embellished border while she graced the Umang 2020 evening with her most adorable smile.

Pristine Vibes

Kriti Sanon’s white floral lehenga with cut-work hemline is an inspiration for modern Indian brides. The Housefull 4 actress complemented the striking embroidery of her lehenga with a few statement pieces of jewelry and a bunch of white roses around her hair bun. We project this look like a wedding trend for 2020 brides and bridesmaids.

There were plenty of other ladies walking wearing impressive outfits for the Umang 2020 gala evening. Rakulpreet and Sophie Chaudhary opted for sequined sarees, which is the hottest trend of the season, while Sara Ali Khan chose to keep it simple with a plain white salwar suit. The event has ended, but in Bollywood, the runway is permanent, and we’re ready for some more fashion trends with the ongoing array of parties and award ceremonies!
