Getting ready to tie the knot? You’ll definitely be doing a lot to make this occasion full of gorgeous memories. So you might as well be yourself- shun all those norms that society has laid out and be a ‘hatke’ Indian bride! Think out of the box on every little detail to make your wedding an exclusively fabulous one. In this post, we’ve shared some cool bridal entry ideas- that will have your guests floored-
1. From The Deep Blue Waters
Exchanging wedding vows by the sea-side sounds like a dream so beautiful! Designer Nishka Lulla walked the arrived for her fairy-tale wedding in Bangkok in a boat wearing a 50 feet long dupatta over her head. This extended pink ‘ghunghat’ looked a wave of vibrancy, complementing her pink traditional lehenga choli detailed with scenery from Hindu mythology.
2. The Traditional Canopy
This is perhaps the most preferred bridal entry of the decade. The bride enters walking under a canopy of fabric and/or flowers edged with a wooden frame held by the bride’s brothers. A number of celebrities including Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra made a graceful entry for their wedding under the ‘chadar’ frame. Actress Priyanka Chopra had even coordinated the canopy design with her red lehenga choli. She tied the knot with singer Nick Jonas in 2018.
3. With Your Man
Gone are the times when the bride and the groom walked in separately, eyeing each other from a distance. Bollywood actress Gul Panag entered with full swag on a Royal Enfield bike which was ridden by none other than her own hubby-to-be Rishi Attari.
4. Dancing your way in
You’re the new-age bride, let go those coy vibes! Indian brides today have taken the gender equality idea to the aisle, dancing their way in which was traditionally confined to the groom and his family.
5. The Girl Gang
Spend fun moments with your girlies just before you tie the knot and what could be better than making an entry while being flanked by your squad! Feel alive each moment with your bridesmaids- your bffs and partners in crime and craziness- to keep all nervousness at bay. You can coordinate the wardrobe of your friends with a colour theme or with similar silhouettes. Contemporary lehenga cholis or indo-western suits will go well if you’re planning such ‘dhamakedaar’ entry, using beer bottles as props!
6. The Regal Bride
How about carrying along a royal vibe- coming in like a spunky princess! You can enter on a decorated elephant. Also, the ‘Ghodi’ is not confined to grooms anymore, even the bride can ride into the wedding venue on a horse will full swag! This mode will be perfect for a wedding happening in a palace or in a similar location.
7. The Traditional Palki
‘Doli uthna’- you can take that literally and use a decorated palki- coming in as a coy bride decked up in a traditional saree or a red bridal lehenga. There are a lot of event management companies that make arrangements for amazingly designed dolis. This can be extended to an entire procession with decorative horses and a musical band- the typical scene that portrays old school Indian weddings.
8. The Christian Wedding Walk-in
Not keen on too much of noise and crowd? You can take wedding vows in complete peace with a serene set-up and soft music, walking in together for the ceremonial pheras- just the way it’s done during Christian weddings. You can also add some fireworks and sparkles to the moment with some help from your friends and family.
9. The Indian Cinderella
Marrying your soul-mate is no less than a fairy-tale come true. Add to the fantasy of those moments- feel like a princess as you sit in a pumpkin van or a chariot to reach your destiny- your dream guy!
10. Riding in a quirky auto-rickshaw
A flower decorated auto-rickshaw is an off-beat way of getting into the venue. While one of your bridesmaids can accompany you, your brother can be your ‘Best Man’ as the driver.
